A Bridgeport police officer has been fired following an investigation into domestic violence arrests and allegations of stalking and harassment, officials said.

Officer Dani Soto was placed on leave following his July 2024 arrest and was officially terminated from the department on Tuesday, according to Bridgeport Police Chief Roderick Porter.

"An internal affairs investigation and an administrative hearing resulted in finding that Officer Soto violated several department policies and procedures as it relates to conduct," said Porter.

Soto turned himself in on July 3, 2024, after police obtained an arrest warrant stemming from a complaint filed by a woman who said she had ended a brief relationship with Soto in December 2023 upon learning he was married.

He was arraigned at Bridgeport Superior Court on five counts of stalking, four counts of unlawful restraint and 22 counts of harassment.
