New York state is expanding access to COVID-19 vaccines.
Gov. Kathy Hochul signed an executive order allowing pharmacists to prescribe the shot to those who ask for it.
The governor says she made the move to give families the choice to protect their loved ones.
"When they said they won't require COVID-19 shots and other vaccinations for our families, I said no, here in New York we'll make parents have the option. If you want your child to have a COVID-19 shot it should be available to you," said Hochul.
The executive order is in effect for 30 days and can be renewed every 30 days.
