A new ambassador wolf is making her debut at the Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem.
Kinari, a nine-and-a-half-week-old pup, is the latest addition to the center’s ambassador pack. She’ll soon join adult wolves Silas and Nikai in helping educate the public about wolf conservation.
“She is a ham for the camera,” said curator Rebecca Bose, who has been with the center for 25 years.
Bose says Kinari is already connecting with visitors and growing fast. “She’s growing before our eyes. I’ll leave in the morning, come back in the evening, and she’s changed.”
The center hopes Kinari’s presence inspires more people to support efforts to protect wolves in the wild.
