A newly renovated playground at Battle Hill Park is now open in White Plains.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held yesterday at the park on McKinley Avenue to mark the occasion.

The updated playground features two main areas, including plenty of swings and a jungle gym.

Mayor Thomas Roach said the city prioritizes replacing equipment before it falls apart.

"Playgrounds stay up until they fall apart. In this community, we don't wait until they fall apart. They get changed out when they're tired," Roach said.
